Recently we had been to Andaman Islands for a short holiday. I am sure many of you must have already visited or plan to visit it sometime or other. For those you are yet to visit Andaman Islands, I would say visit as soon as possible, for already there are tourists coming from all parts of India, and it is slowly becoming like any other tourist spot in India. However, it has still not come to that level, so plan your holiday to this wonderful place soon.
Here are some pictures of this beautiful place, take a look. You would love Scuba diving, snorklling, sea walking and many other activities offered there. There are lovely beaches to visit of which Havelock Island is the best. You can brush up history too at Port Blair.
For the next 45 mins. I was going to enter the sea world, which I had seen only in Discovery Channel.
I was so excited
With my Guide/ Instructor
The sign meaning 'good'
I will post pictures of the beautiful beaches in the next blog.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteJerry, you are always the first to comment in almost all my blogs, and it really pleases me to see your comment. Yes such trips are always fun. Thanks Jerry.
DeleteWow!! The flora and fauna in the sea world is so amazingly beautiful and wherever you see, there is something or the other which mesmerizes you! Your pics remind me of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara :)
ReplyDeleteYou are right, and when you get to do it is really awesome. Everyone should do it. It was so much fun.
DeleteThis is Rachna's comment which got deleted by mistake, instead of clicking on the publish, it got clicked on delete, sorry Rachna.

Here is your comment :
The pictures are amazing. You are right; it is on my itinerary as well.
Beautiful pictures Rama. Scuba-diving must have been a one of its kind experience, isn't it lovely to swim alongside all those fish as if you were one among them :) It reminded me of Finding Nemo and Zindagi na milegi Dobara as Shilpa pointed out.
ReplyDeleteIt was really interesting and felt very good too. Thanks Reshma,
DeleteThis place is very interesting! I must visit sometime. Showed it to my son and husband.
ReplyDeleteI don't know swimming, so going underwater should wait for my next birth!
Sandhya, you need not know swimming for this, anybody can do it. You only have to practice breathing through your mouth, which they train you that is all. The instructor would always be with you and take you to see all that is interesting there. So plan a trip to Andaman Islands soon, and have fun scuba diving there. No need to wait till next birth.

ReplyDeleteWhere has my comment gone? I wrote it early this morning!
I had written a long comment saying that since I don't know swimming I cannot enjoy the beauty of the sea like you, Rama! Nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteI searched for it Sandhya it was not there.
DeleteThe only comment that got deleted by mistake was Rachna's comment. I saw in the comment moderation too, for sometimes some comments don't come to my inbox, but they would be there.
It was not there too, nor in the spam folder. Maybe you thought you had clicked on the publish, but left the page without clicking it, that is why it didn't get published. SOmetimes I too have forgotten to click on publish and have left the page, only to realize later what i had done.
Pretty good pics. How did you folks mange the underwater shoot?
ReplyDeleteI was peeved when people termed the archipelago as the poor mans Maldives.
We can't pictures, another guide would be taking the pictures. We were given the CD once we were out.Andaman Island is simply beautiful, and you must enjoy all the water sports there.
Deletebeautiful photos
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice travelogue and beautiful photos. While reading this post, this famous song was hearing in my ears:
ReplyDeleteAndha maanai paarungal azhagu
Ilam paavai ennodu uravu
Andha thennai thaalaattum ilaneer
Indha theevil penn thoovum panneer
I also remember seeing this movie many years ago. The actors were Shivaji and Sujata, though I don't remember the story now. Another movie that is based on freedom fighters of that era is Shiraishlai, with Mohan Das, Tabu, Delhi Ganesh, Prabhu and many good actors, it was taken in Andaman Cellular Jail. Ironically it was aired on the TV while we were there.
DeleteThanks SG.
Yes Ashwini go for it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! O! God, how I wonder what you have created.Aha! Mind-blowing.Nice post ,Rema.
