I simply love the word "Serendipity" it sounds so good. I can relate to this word and its meaning, with everything that has happened in my life, and is happening in my life.
Serendipity : Look for something, find something else, and realize that what you've found is more suited to your needs than what you were looking for ~ ~ Lawerence Block.
What do you think?
hey after reading this, me 2 have started liking this word...:)
ReplyDeletei love the word too! it just tickles the tongue. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful word and even more beautiful quote!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful word and even more beautiful quote. I love this!!
ReplyDeleteThe word appears to be a misnomer! It could have been a 'Serendipick' instead of serendipity! I vividly remember my English teacher explaining the word. with some anecdotes...may be I will post a blog on this one day!
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving a potential topic!
Visiting your blog after a fairly big gap.
ReplyDeleteAs someone said, tongue firmly in cheek,
"An optimist is never pleasantly surprised"
Life's googlies can be interesting for sure.
As Subu says, the word brought to mind
our school day struggle with 'Princes of Serendip' But poor Sarah Palin is not as lucky as Horace Walpole with her 'refudiate' :)
Interesting word. Mostly, we look for something. We find something else. And we learn to be content with whatever we found. :)
ReplyDeleteNice post. Serendipity is such a nice word. I can think of two incidents that would aptly describe this word.
ReplyDelete1. Columbus started on a voyage to find India but ended up discovering America.
2. Pharmaceutical chemists working, at Pfizer’s England facility, researching for hypertension, accidentally discovered Viagra.
Yes SG, when you start to think about it, so many such incidents come to our minds. I feel everybody should embrace this word, and they would end up finding things they never even imagined they would ever find in their lives.
ReplyDeleteThe serendipitous discoveries are what makes life so magical and joyous! Read some of your earlier posts as well, and enjoyed them thoroughly:p
ReplyDeleteI love this word too! It *feels* happy to say it. It sounds like a dance. The meaning is almost like a dance too- things seemingly unrelated just coming together elegantly.
ReplyDeleteHi Rama:)
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to note how a single word conjures up such wonderful meanings and we are strangely attracted to it.
I suppose all of us have a sense of wonder and fascination for certain things which makes us glad and fills us with an unknown joy.
It was a wonderful idea of yours to focus on this strange sounding word and I always thought it was the name of a girl.
Have a nice day:)
Joseph
One of my favourite words too. So much of my life has been about Serendipity.
ReplyDeleteYes Rayna, life is so beatiful, and the word too.
ReplyDeleteI loved the movie too of the same name. Although I have seen it so many times still if I happen to catch it being aired again in the TV,I stop right there and watch it again till the end.
