These are a few of my favorite things.....

The beautiful Tanjore dancing doll, from Tamil Nadu, the Kondapalli wooden dolls of Krishna swinging  merrily, surrounded by his gopis , the Rama, Sita and Hanuman from Andhra Pradesh.

Some of the toy car collections of our son, the tiles hand painted by our son... the brainy frog with a book sitting on top of a skull from Salamanca, supposed to be a lucky charm.... each has a story to tell....

Old &; new Photographs, that is me when I was just 21 years old....
This beautiful unusual looking ceramic doll picked up during our US trip from the Salvation Army for a dollar.... Do I see tears in her eyes?

Our  Sweet, sweet bubbly dog called Cookie who left us when she was just 3 and half years old leaving us still missing her...
and below her in cool, cool sunglasses is our sweetie pie dog Toffee, who is actually our old dog's sister's pup.

The lovely cars, trains and buses collected by  us displayed on the edge of the steps, the peacock and the parrot, the witch of Salamanca (Spain) that flashes light and makes a lot of blood curdling noises, well these are a few of my favorite things.....
Do you also have some favorite things?

  6. My favorite of your favorite things would be your photographs. You look so so lovely! The first thing I ask when I visit friends is their old photo albums. I love leafing through those black and whites. Thanks for showing yours. :)
What an interesting way to display those cars! who is the car connoisseur? By the strength of the display I would say everybody pitched in.

  15. Awesome pics. Everything is beautifully displayed. In my house, everything is bundled up inside because of my naughty younger son and puppy :). How did Cookie pass away so young? And, Toffee is so cute in those sunglasses. I also have a huge collection of cars, most of them broken by my sons. I loved the wooden dolls too. You have a great aesthetic sense, rama.

  22. Rama, you have some beautiful pieces that obviously are held near and dear. You were a beauty at 21 and remain that way today; beauty comes from within lol
I have to admit that I could not get past the thought of having to dust the many pieces. Oh dear!

  23. How sweet a post this is - to be surrounded by all things that are a part of your life and has a story to smile at :-). Love those idols - are they kondapalli toys - looks like but haven't seen those ones though. Loved the way your son's toy cars went up on that wall.
